"My journey to Buttermee Pancakes began when I was looking for a creative outlet to offset some of the heaviness that comes with studying clinical mental health. As I curated recipes for steak, ribs, bread, and even ice cream, it quickly became apparent that I had a knack for cooking. To keep my creativity alive I decided to start making foods that I hate. Lo and behold, pancakes were a TOP contender for my most hated foods. In my defense the standard American pancake is always served with a washed yellow color, drenched in synthetic syrup, and a dense feeling once it goes down; they were mediocre at best. So, I wouldn't rest until I created a pancake that even I would not only enjoy but also crave. I combined all of a typical pancake's best qualities with all of the qualities I wish a pancake had, and that is how our perfectly crisp-edged buttermilk mini pancakes were born! "
Buttermee Pancakes first debuted in March of 2023 at a bridal expo in Trenton, New Jersey with hopes to engage the community and sweeten up events around the tri-state area for the summer. After seeing the outpour of excitement at our first expo, we attended another one and the response was even greater. People were over the moon about a mini pancake catering experience but they were equally as disappointed to know that they couldn't just grab an order of our buttermilk mini pancakes. So, we decided to take our delicious minis to festivals, fairs and farmers markets, starting with the Asbury Fresh Farmers & Makers Market.
Throughout the summer we served buttermilk mini pancakes to thousands of smiling faces at all kinds of community events and social gatherings. We were even named the #1 food at NJ.com's sold-out Jersey Shore food festival. The tremendous support we received from the community, coupled with the home we've created amongst the people that we served, it was clear to us that we had made magic.
Buttermee Pancakes was founded with the intent to positively impact the wellness of the world around us and all individuals that come in contact with our brand including employees, customers, and passerby’s. Buttermee Pancakes donates 10% of all proceeds to organizations that provide free mental health resources to the community and we hope to increase that number in the near future.
